Craziness

About a month ago Chris and I sold our little black Honda Civic to my cousin Alden. We wanted to just have one car so we wouldn't have to worry about driving down two cars to Texas when we are finished here at BYU. We have also been preparing ourselves to buy a bigger vehicle so we thought this was a great opportunity to get rid of a car save more money and start thinking about getting a bigger one come next year sometime. So we sold our car! It was great and yet sad...that car has been in my family for as long as I can remember. Loved that car.

So over Easter weekend we drove up in our White Honda Accord to Rexburg to attend Graduation for Callie and Kyle celebrate Callie's birthday and Easter! We were excited for a fun filled weekend. We arrived in Rexubrg and got settled with Kyle's family in the downstairs bedrooms. About 2 hours after we arrived we were headed to my cousin Audrey's house (Alden--who bought the black car--his sister) so she could babysit Gray while we attended Graduation. We about 3 minutes from her house...maybe less when basically a UPS truck pulled from the curb across all lanes of traffic to pull into a parking lot. He was traveling slowly against the curb so we were going to go around him to give him some space...well since we were already more to the left side of the road there was no where for us to go and it was so sudden. Anyway airbags went off and everybody is lying about what happened. It was most definitely the UPS trucks fault and I know he's just trying to cover his behind because he could lose his job. Anyway I thank goodness was in the back seat of the car putting together Gray's diaper bag. Nobody was injured. Our car was driveable but the front bumper was off and airbags were out so it is now sitting at a tow shop. We were carless!! GAHHH!!! GRRRRR!!! I was so mad. What a joke! We just sold our other car and about 2 weeks after got in an accident and now have no cars!

Luckily Jennie and Dave were also in town and Alisha was staying an extra week for her spring break so that opened up 3 seats in their small rental. It was an extremely uncomfortable drive home let me tell ya! Plus Gray's carseat is HUGE! Chris slept and watched movies most of the time and I just sat there miserable and uncomfortable. Thank goodness Gray slept for a good while. Ryan and Jessi were extremely helpful and let us borrow their second car for a few days til we figured something else out. Chris was immediately searching for new cars trying to decide what we wanted to do. We felt since we had jsut sold our small car and the other was ruined that we should look into a bigger car. After lots of discussion and other things we started out on Monday night about a week ago looking at dealerships to see what kind of used cars they had. We found a great deal on a Nissan Pathfinder. I was nervous because I had never known anything other than Honda or Toyota because that's all my mom ever bought. Chris is really good at looking into everything and doing his research. SO we looked around at some other cars and dealership and did more searching online. The nissan pathfinder was a 2007 and they were asking for below the Kelly Blue Book price which was awesome because it was in GREAT condition. We just need to do a little more deep cleaning under the seats haha. We then got a small discount because we decided to buy the car from the dealership that Chris' cousin worked at. We put down more than half of what they were asking which helped us qualify for the car since Chris is a student we aren't really "working" and neither one of us has any credit. We got a pretty good deal on a small car payment and after a year when our credit has gone up we will be able to refinance and it will be an even lower payment. Anyway. WE've never had a car payment so I feel pretty good about what we got and this will be extremely helpful with our credit. We feel really good about our new car and the decision we made. It's so nice to have a bigger car and more space especially with Baby #2 on her way in the next few weeks!

So this isn't actually our car but this is what it looks like. Majestic blue 2007 Nissan Pathfinder. We LOVE IT! It has the middle row of 3 seats and then 2 back seats perfect for our growing family. It's raining and wet outside and Chris just left with our car so I don't have a picture. haha
So as for our White car we finally got the police report back from the police department in rexburg and sent it in to our insurance company. More waiting...the insurance companies now get to decide who was at fault and who wasn't or they could just decide we were both wrong and we will have to deal with everything on our own. Sadly Chris had just changed the insurance from just liabilty to cover our car and the other car but somehow he managed to do it on the black car that we just sold and left the white car with just liability. Luckily our car is still driveable so we have a few options and family members that would be interested in buying it from us to fix it up for cheap for themselves so we aren't completely out of money if it comes back that they think it was our fault or that both of us are at fault. We do want to get a small beat up car that chris can just drive to and from school...in fact I think we will get him a bike since campus is so close but once we move back to Texas we will definitely be finding an old junkie that he can drive to and from work and Dental School whenever that is!

Next subject!! Chris is finishing up finals this week, the family comes into town, Chris will be studying for the DAT, taking the DAT, and getting his application submitted all within the next few months which is stressful but he won't be taking any classes through school  so that will be a nice break. We will be moving into my mom's condo come June when Ryan and Jessi move out to save us quite a bit of money...plus it has a washer/dryer and DISHWASHER!!!! So that is in the middle of June. Then Chris will take Summer classes...probably just one class. Due to Chris taking spring semester off to prepare for the DAT we will not be moving to Texas. He will finish summer semester and take classes Fall semester and graduate in December. We will spend Christmas here with Chris' fam since it's their year and then head to Texas. We are considering living with my parents again now that there will only be two kids at home and to save money again! Chris will be able to work for my dad which will be great and hopefully he will have been accepted into a Dental School by then...HOPEFULLY! If he can get his DAT score bumped up that will be extremely helpful.

Chris played intramural's this year with my brother and some other friends...they made it all the way to the championship game and sadly lost. But it was fun to see them go all the way and have fun doing it! One downside is at one of the games Chris hurt his thumb. well he kept playing on it thinking it was just sore. He finally decided to go into the health center to have it looked at and get some x-ray's done because the pain wasn't going away. There was no break but it looked like ligament damage. So they scheduled him in to see the hand specialist. Yesterday morning he went in...the doctor looked at it and he came back with a Cast on his hand! WHAT?! Apparently the ligament didn't break off the bone but the bone came with it...not sure how they didn't see that in the x-ray. The bone is still just sitting there so the doctor felt it would be able to heal if we could keep it in place. So he has a cast for about 4 weeks then hopefully it will be all fixed!!

Today is Chris' 26th Birthday!! That's nuts. Earlier this year Chris said to me...Can you believe I'm turning 25 this year?! I looked at him confused and said..."Chris I'm sorry dear but you're turning 26 this year!!!" He couldn't believe it. hahaha It was quite funny. He really thought he was only turning 25. Poor guy. Well since he is super busy with finals we did a little celebrating yesterday, this morning he opened a package from my mom which he loved, then we had German Pancakes for breakfast which were delish! He will be studying all day sadly. BUT he asked me for 2 things for his birthday...a Massage after School was done, and to go back to Provo Beach Resort to do the Flo-Rider again! So I scheduled for both...the massage is a week from today which I know he can't wait for and due to the cast we had to cancel flo-rider and are going to a new trampoline place in Orem. We will be doing dinner another night too.

So happy birthday to my sweetheart. I've known you for 4 1/2 years now!! Time flies when you're having fun. we have lots of good times together and those make up for the harder ones. Thank you for being so patient and kind with me and Grayson. Thank you for sticking it through these tough semesters of Science classes. You act like you hate it but you always know how to answer all my questions!! haha I'm proud of who you are and how far you've come. You will be wrapped around our little Payton's finger...I JUST KNOW IT! Thank you for being a worthy priesthood holder, thank you for helping us get to the temple every month and thank you for taking me to the temple to be sealed to you for forever coming up on 3 1/2 years ago! I Love You.
