8 Weeks Old!

Oh how time is just flying. I now feel silly for wishing time would go faster when I was pregnant. I was definitely uncomfortable so I don't regret wishing it would go faster for that reason but because now it's already been 8 weeks and my baby girl is getting so big!! Her doctor doesn't have an opening until the end of August so we scheduled with another doctor in the same office but he isn't available till the middle of august. OH well. She's healthy and happy. 

-From what we are weighing on our scale she is weighing just over 11lbs!! 

-She is very long which I feel like is where she gets most of her weight. 

-She loves to coo and make a little giggle noise. 

-She LOVES to push off of everything she can get her feet on. 

-She's got some strong legs because if we hold her up she loves to lock her knees and stand as long as she can. 

-I can see her little blonde hair getting longer but only at the back end of her neck. haha 

-Her eyes are still blue

-She isn't a baby that will hold on to your finger. She doesn't even enjoy holding toys. she has NO interest.

-She has a little stubborn attitude. 

-I am sensing an independent strong attitudish personality. hahaha

-She hates being wrapped up with her arms in the blanket. She has to have her arms out. Grayson was the complete opposite...as soon as he had his arms wrapped up he was out!

Grayson still loves and adores her. He sometimes just isn't AWARE of his surroundings and forgets she's there. You can't blame him..he's only 2 1/2. He just loves to play and roll and run and dink around. Payton sometimes gets bumped. But he is very good at apologizing, giving kisses and telling her he's sorry. He's going to be such a good big brother and "older" brother when they grow up. Very protective. People talk about how much they LOVE that they had a girl first. Maybe it just depends on what you grew up with but I absolutely LOVED that I had an older brother. He was always there to watch out for me and check in on me. I wanted that for my daughters. I know not everybody had that great big brother. I did...and I hope to raise Grayson to be the same way. Treating his sisters with great respect and his sisters treating him the same way. Grayson is just as good of a helper as any girl is. At age 2 they are all that way. Maybe it depends on personality and attitude but he is so good at wanting to help me with everything. Especially if it has to do with Payton. I absolutely love this age. No I don't LOVE that he can still be a stink but he is very good at understanding what I am saying. If I had Payton when he was a little younger it would have been a lot harder. I am glad that he is old enough to understand who Payton is. He remembers her being in the hospital and going to visit her...he still talks about it. 

I am working hard to help Grayson obey when we ask him to do something or not do something. One thing I am feeling like is working is when he gets in trouble or I ask him not to do something I say "Say Okay Mommy" As soon as I say that he immediately flips a switch and does what we ask. It's been working pretty well. I'm not saying it won't get worse as he gets older but we're working on it so maybe it doesn't get too bad. haha I'm sure some people are laughing at this saying "Oh scarlet you just wait..." 

That was all about Grayson but I feel bad not talking about him too.

This coming Sunday...August 29th we are blessing our sweet baby girl. The picture in the top left was my blessing dress that I wore. We bought her her first piece of Jewelry special for the blessing and this white bow. The last picture is to show how old the dress is...they got it wrong though...it's supposed to say 22 yrs old. haha My parents and 3 youngest siblings arrive on Thursday and will be here for the blessing and leave Monday. Very excited to see them all and so glad they are coming!
