Pretty behind this week. Not feeling up to making a blog post but figured I should to keep up my weekly accomplishments of posting. : )
So on Monday I went in to have my membranes stripped. The midwife I saw has a 99% success rate for women who are dilated to a 3. Sadly I'm not a 3 yet but wanted to give it a shot. There was one problem....my cervix is dilated which is awesome but it is too far back for them to get in and actually swipe my membranes. So that didn't happen. Lame.
Baby girl seemed to be acting lazy on Tuesday I believe and wasn't moving at all. I got a little worried come the afternoon and started to move around and poke at her a little to see if she would start moving. Nothing happened so I called into a nurse and they had me come in for a Non Stress Test. They got me hooked up and baby's heartbeat looked good but it stayed in the same spot the whole 15 minutes and they like to see it moving up and down a little to show movement. The nurse got out a little buzz thingy and started buzzin my belly. She then had me drink some apple juice. Baby immediately started moving so when the nurse came back in she says "looks like she was just sleeping in there!" I was just a little bugged...My thoughts..."WHY CAN"T YOU COME OUT AND SLEEP!!!" COME ON! hahaha. If you can't tell I'm getting a little restless waiting on her.
Thursday we went in for my regular check up. We get there and are told that the midwife we were supposed to see is out and I was going to be seeing the on-call midwife. I wasn't too happy because my first midwife would try to strip my membranes...this other one is all about being completely natural and letting the body do it's own thing. So we waited for an hour from the time we got there till 45 min later we get into the room till 15 min later the midwife comes in and takes about 5 minutes with me. Tells me I am still dilated to a 1 1/2 and my cervix is still very far away. I wasn't a super happy camper. I'm almost 40 weeks and didn't feel like she did anything or said anything to me. Oh well.
So other than having my membranes stripped I was getting low on options to kick my body into labor mode. Last option? Castor Oil. My mom even tried it so I figured I could just give it a shot. Around 6:30 last night I drank half the 2oz bottle with quite a bit of orange juice and did great. It wasn't as bad as I had heard. 2 hours later I made my first trip to the bathroom and the contractions started. They weren't too severe or frequent till about 1am. Boy were those rough! I had to sit and breathe through each one. I woke up around 8:45 not having slept well and everything was gone. So no baby but good news...my cervix is softer and a little more dilated.
Here I am today with my side view and view looking down. Quite funny. I am 1 1/2 days away from my official due date. Whether she comes then or not I don't know. But it's crazy to think I've made it to the 40 week mark!
Showin the real deal. hahaha
And I just HAD to get a shot of this goofy lookin alien like thingy. It's as if the top part of my belly button pokes out but the bottom is flat and stretched. hahaha. Grayson thinks it's funny to poke at when I let him blow on my belly. Sorry if that's too weird for anyone but I just had to get a picture of it for the record. : )
Weight this week at 39 weeks and 6 days: 152
Weight with Grayson the day before I delivered at exactly 39 weeks: 153
WOOT WOOT!
They do tell me I am measuring a little small so I won't be surprised if my due date is off or she could just be a petite little girl. That's alright with me as long as she's healthy. : )
So that's been my week...trying to dilate/soften my cervix and having some luck. My next appt is almost a week away. All I have to say is she better come sometime on her own before I am 41 1/2 - 42 weeks because then they will induce me and my risk of C-section is higher. COME ON BABY GIRL!!!
Mother's Day
Mother's Day with my Mother in Law and Grandmother in Law.
And me with my two bebe's (one who needs to show her face soon) and my handsome almost 2 1/2 year old! And of course my beautiful corsage from my daddio...family tradition.
