So much to catch up on and yet for some reason I just don't have much interest. Not many people read my blog and I load all of my pictures on to facebook that updating my blog is pointless except to tell a couple stories here and there.
I hardly ever get out of the house due to us only having one car and Chris being at work and school all day long and on top of that I babysit my sister in laws nephew so it makes it difficult to go places. That means one almost 3 year old, a 4 month old and Harrison is 6 months old! GAH! What did I get myself into. haha Luckily Harrison is a great sleeper and easy baby but it does get a little complicated when (picture this) Harrison and Payton wake up at the same time. They both slept longer than normal so they are both crying of hunger. I quickly make harrison's bottle sit on the floor with Payton get her settled for me to feed her. So Payton is laying across my lap attached to me eating I have my right or left leg propping her up and I am using my right or left hand (depending on whats available) holding harrison's bottle feeding him. hahahaha.
What an experience this has been. Almost like having twins...thank goodness they're not because I'm SURE it's MUCH harder. haha. He leaves at 3:30 most days. But it does get crazy around here. I could drive to a park but we don't have a car...so you say well you can walk to a park...well Problem it's complicated when you have two babies that take multiple naps a day AND you have NO STROLLER!! So then what am I gonna do...walk with a baby on each hip or hauling two carseats 2 blocks down the way to the nearest park all while trying not to yell at my 3 year old to stay close by and not run in the street. YA STINKIN RIGHT!!! So we get stuck at home all day.
Grayson watches cartoons in the morning while eating cereal, playing with his cars and blocks and coloring at the table. And oh yeah after eating cereal he then carries around a bag of carrots. hahaha. At 12:30 or 1 he goes down for his nap so you'd think I'd get a nice break...nope. I still feed Payton ever 2-3 1/2 hours. Then that's my chance to work on laundry, clean up the house, feed myself, (which I'm ALWAYS hungry or THIRSTY) and then try to make myself look presentable for my hubby to walk in the door after a long day. haha. Can't imagine what people do with more than 2 kids. Guess you just make it work.
Both of my kids and myself have had these terrible colds. Mostly just runny stuffed up noses but Payton since she is still little doesn't have as big of an airway or have the ability to blow her nose or cough up mucous she just coughs and hacks on her mucous all day and it sounds terrible. The doc said there wasn't much I could do except let it go through her system which is a good thing I guess.
We did take Payton into the Doctor but her real 4 month check up isn't till next week but at her last appt she was 14lbs 7oz. BUT she is EXTREMELY long. I just don't have exact number. Payton is as long as Harrison who is two months older than her. Harrison is just short though. haha
At 3 months I had her ears pierced. I had been debating for a while and just decided that I either needed to do it now so that's all she knows and it's never a problem or wait until she is much older and can take care of them herself. I had been told a few storise where people decided to wait till they were a little older 6-10 and then they got infected because they don't take care of them and don't want you touching them so then they have to take them out and it's a waste of mula. So we went for it. We haven't had any problems, I keep them clean and she can't touch them yet because she doesn't have that much control so it's worked out well. She's giggling a lot more and yet sometimes we can tell she wants to giggle so badly but just can't get it out. She smiles at everybody and slobbers everywhere. She loves shoving her fingers, fists, toys whatever she can into her mouth. She's been rolling around since she was 2 months old. She definitely knows who I am...that or she can smell my milk from across the room. hahaha. Chris will hold her and I will walk around him and she follows me...then I will hold her and Chris will walk around me and she will kind of watch him for a few seconds but then stops and just watches me. haha She's a momma's girl. That or she just really likes that I feed her. haha. We just love her to pieces. She is such a good eater and is getting better at sleeping everyday. For a little while there she was napping for 30 minutes at a time. I would get her up from her nap, feed her, let her play then when she would get fussy I would lay her down and she would be up after 30min. So I decided to start going in getting her settled again, giving her back her binky and she would fall back to sleep. She's gotten much better now...she will sleep for an hour to an hour and a half. At night I usually feed her the last time around 10:30 and she sleeps till around 2 or 3 eats on one side then goes right back to sleep and will be up around 7ish for her next feeding then sleeps till 8:30 or 9. It's getting better. I've been trying to give her her binky to help her go back to sleep to start sleeping longer just like I do during the day. But it's not bad I'm not complaining I'm just working on it getting better.
She loves to be around Grayson and watches him like a hawk. He loves to come up and talk to her and giggle at her and tell her he loves her. They're darling together. He always tells me "Oh I LOVE HER." haha.
She has started doing this puppy dog whimper when she wants attention or to be picked up. so cute.
I said earlier that I am always hungry it seems. I read that when nursing it's taking up to 500 calories! This is my day...I have a bowl of cereal in the morning around 9. Then I don't usually eat anything else till between 1 or 3 and if I do it's a bowl of ramen or some toast sometimes a sandwich or maybe even more cereal. Then we have a good dinner. That's about it. I am always needing something to drink or wanting something to snack on. I don't know maybe I'm crazy but that doesn't seem like I'm taking in a lot of calories for putting off 500. Thoughts on nursing? I'm weighing around 125 to 127 and my pre pregnancy weight was 124. I don't think I'll lose all of it until I'm done nursing Maybe i'm not burning enough energy and I'm too bored? I don't know what have you experienced? Is it really a nursing thing or am I just making stuff up? haha
Chris just got home from his interview with Baylor in Dallas!!! We were sooo beyond thrilled when we received the e-mail from them inviting him to an interview. Funny story....the week we went out to see chad get home from Portugal my brother Ryan had gone in and talked to Janet and asked if she had seen an application come through for Chris Reece. She already knew who he was and said yes actually we just sent him an e-mail for an interview request!!! So Ryan Jessi and my parents all knew he was getting an interview before we even got the e-mail and they didn't want to tell Chris because they wanted it to be a surprise for Chris. So we did a little celebrating. Those stinkers! The interview went well and they seemed impressed and he had definitely improved his application. BUT we won't know anything till December 3rd because that is the first work day of the month. Lame huh?! Crossing our fingers, saying our prayers. We just want to be accepted somewhere! But it was exciting for him anyway.
Daddy came back from his interview with treats from Ci-Ci. He was SOO excited

Sorry for the extremely long update. I understand if you didn't read the whole thing. Not many people read this anyway. haha It's good for me though to keep some sort of log on what's happening here in the Reece home. : )

I enjoy reading them Scarlet. but mostly it is important for you to keep track of your life while the kids grow up, it's easy to lose those years.
ReplyDeleteI always read your blog! :) And as far as breastfeeding goes I am a true believer in that it helps you shed pregnancy weight. I am 4 pounds UNDER my pre-pregnancy weight right now! All I've been doing is breastfeeding and I'll go running for like 20-30 minutes like 3 times a week but that is not enough exercise to explain my weight loss. I pretty much have been losing around 1/2 pound every 1.5 weeks and I love it! And I truly am not really watching what I eat at all :)
ReplyDeleteFinally an update! Cute kiddos :) I'm excited to meet Payton in December - can't believe she'll be 6 months by then!
ReplyDeleteHopefully we can all end up in Texas next fall!! :)
ReplyDeletei read it all! love to get all caught up with ya and love to stay in touch!
ReplyDeleteYou are a champ, Scarlett. Keep up the good work :)
