Sleep Training Update: (not exactly training anymore just taking what we can get)
We fought Gray a few nights ago to just fall asleep in his bed. 45 minutes and he wasn't having it...even after Chris went in and tried to sit next to him lay next to him anything to calm him down and help him fall asleep in his OWN bed. Finally we brought his bed mattress out into the living room and within 2 minutes Gray was completely OUT! I'd say around 2 or 3 he was up crying so we dragged the bed into our room and he slept on the floor. I'm a little over NOT getting sleep right now...especially since I don't get much anyway tossing and turning due to a belly and a baby girl that likes to jab me in the middle of the night.
Last night I told Chris my first goal was to get him to at least START in his own bed in his own room then if he wakes up in the middle of the night we can drag him to our room to sleep on the floor. (that will be our next goal obviously...getting him to stay in his room). So we went in said prayers, sang a song, read his book and let him has as many cars as he wanted in his bed. He resisted and cried/screamed at us for a good 20 minutes and HOORAY!!! he was out. He wasn't up until 4:45 this morning! It was a pretty good sleep. :> The catch was a friend of mine told me to maybe try a small bribe...so we did...I told him if he slept in his big boy bed he could have a treat the next morning. Chris doubted but it worked (for the most part). So these are the pics of the day with his "TREAT!"
So Yummy! We will see how far this bribery goes...but hey it got us one decent night of sleep. :>
Oh Scarlet , I feel your pain! At least you know he can be a good sleeper so this is most likely temporary. The one thing I've learned in dealing with Luke is just to do what you need to do to survive, even if someone tells you that's not the best way. Some kids just react differently to situations. Just follow your own instincts and I'm sure things will get better soon. Good luck!
