I am 23 weeks and 3 days today! Wow time really is flying by...I'm coming up on my 3rd tri-mester and that seemed so far away for me with Grayson. Today I went in for just a routine checkup make sure I'm feeling well and nothing weird is happening. Then for one of the best parts...listening to baby girls heartbeat. Such a precious thing. It's amazing that she's alive in there. I just don't understand how people can say fetus' aren't really alive in the womb?! That's NUTS!
So the nurse informed me of the glucose coming up at my next appointment...BARF! I hate that part. they give you a small bottle of Orange soda with no carbonation kind of? It's really nasty and bland. You have to take it all in 5 minutes and then I have my appointment an hour after when they will poke me with a needle and steal some blood to test for gestational diabetes...correct me if I'm getting this wrong.
I've been having a hard time sleeping...a harder time than what I remember with Gray. So I mentioned to my midwife that I had been having headaches for the past week almost everyday. She said because my blood pressure was at a normal level that it was probably exhaustion or dehydration which I try really hard to drink lots of water and carry around my large water bottle. So then she asked what my normal day is like...as soon as I told her I watch my own two year old and 3 other little girls between the ages of 1 1/2 to 3 she said well there you go!! You're tired and not sleeping great is equaling exhaustion...not enough to pass out during the day but enough to cause these horrible headaches which are not normal for me. So she told me if I get a headache to take some tylenol pm that night and hope that helps me sleep better....if those aren't working then she would prescribe me an ambian that I could take every so often to help me get a good nights sleep. I thought she was crazy using that word. The only time i've used an ambian was when I was in the hospital after having Gray via c-section! ha I probably won't end up asking for that and just tough it out.
Everything else is well Baby girl still kicks me like crazy way down low which is really uncomfortable...maybe it's her arm I don't know but it's definitely NOT FUN!
Stats:
Weight(from Dr. Appt): 136! (yuck...probably those muddy buddies I devoured last week?)
I am officially on track with my pregnancy with Gray. 5 months and a gain of 12lbs. Guess I'm alright with that! As long as I don't get ahead it's all goood!
Front View:
I've been waiting for my belly button to show up in pictures...I may take a flat out belly button picture so you can see it poking it's way out. haha

Side View:
Gettin bigger and harder to handle.
* It probably takes 15 pictures to snap a decent one because my hubby is a stinker and thinks I'm ridiculous for wanting a weekly picture of my belly...hence why I originally was taking my own. So this time around these are the best I've got!!*

Here is the pic a website showed me for baby at 23 weeks...
Looking like a little person to me!!
My doctor old me to take Unisom to help me sleep. It's over the counter . It's a step between Tylenol pm and ambien. You could ask your dr about that if you are worried about ambien. I actually never ended up taking any so i can't tell you if it works or not. Sorry! Hope you start sleeping better soon!
