Heaven is For REAL

Chris and I were wandering through wal-mart and came to the book section. As we were moving on I saw this book and went to read the back....Here is what it says...
-- When Colton Burpo made it through an emergency appendectomy, his family was overjoyed at his miraculous survival. What they weren't expecting, though, was the story that emerged in the months that followed-a story as beautiful as it was extraordinary, detailing their little boy's trip to heaven and back.
Colton, not yet years old, told his parents he left his body during the surgery- and authenticated that claim by describing exactly what his parents were doing in another part of the hospital while he was being operated on. He talked of visiting heaven and relayed stories told to him by people he met there whom he had never met in life, sharing events that happened before he was born. He also astonished his parents with descriptions of obscure details about heaven that matched the Bible exactly, though he had not yet learned to read.
With disarming innocence and the plainspoken boldness of a child, Colton tells of meeting long-departed family memebers. He describes Jesus, the angels, how "really, really big" God is, and how much God loves us. Retold by his father, but using Colton's uniquely simple words, Heaven is for Real offers a glimpse of the world that awaits us, where as colton says, "Nobody is old and Nobody wears glasses."
Heaven is for Real will forever change the way you think of eternity, offering the chance to see, and believe, like a child.

I really enjoyed this book. It was not written by an LDS author. The father is actually a Pastor for another church but he did a very good job at relating all of the experiences his child had when explaining Heaven to the BIBLE. When Colton says he has seen Jesus the parents became very interested in what Jesus looks like so they would go from store to store and ask their son well what's wrong with this picture? Is this correct? And everytime there was something missing. Then it tells a story of a young Lithuanian girl (whose mother is atheist) who around the age of 4 was having visions of heaven. She was an artist so it came out in her paintings. One of the paintings was this picture of Christ and when colton's parents heard of this young girl they found her picture and brought it to Colton's attention. After years of trying to find the right picture Colton finally said "Dad, that one's right." The little girl describes the savior as pure, very masculine, really strong and big, and his eyes are just beautiful." Anyway I just loved this picture of the savior. This is how I picture him now. It's a very striking picture and those eyes are very piercing.

You may not believe or be interested but I was very touched by Colton's stories that he told. Maybe you will enjoy it. I did.
