Well Mother's Day is just a few days away! For all you husbands out there I hope you're ready with something special. I sort of dropped the hint on my hubby this morning so he wouldn't forget. He said he already had stuff planned. I'm a lucky girl. Growing up I loved mother's day. Even as a daughter my dad made things special for my sister and I along with my mom and we did the same for the Boy's on Father's day seeing how we would all someday be mom's and dad's. As a tradition my dad would buy corsage's for my mom sister and I and we would wear them to church. It just made our day more special. Flower's are beautiful and the perfect gift. Last year we missed mother's day with my family by 2 weeks so when we arrived that sunday my dad had Corsage's for us to wear together. It's a special memory that I have and I plan to carry that on for my daughter's someday. (When and if I have daughters haha).
This mother's day will also be special because My brother Chad will be skyping us from PORTUGAL!!! I can't wait to see him in person. I get a little teary eyed thinking about how excited I am. Chad and I never really had the best relationship but leaving the house and him going on a mission has been the best thing. Well and we've just grown up so that helps. You sure come to love somebody more when they are far away. I can't wait!!
Some of my favorite things about my mom:
-She brought me into this world and raised me even though I was bratty snotty and pretty mean as a young girl. Hopefully nobody thinks I still am. haha I guess I can still have a mean side to me. haha
-She taught me alongside my piano teacher to play the piano
-She taught me to sing
-She is very kind loving and forgiving
-She is an awesome choreographer
-She was MISS CONGENIALITY in High School I believe
-She just choreographed and taught 30 high school seniors to do the WALTZ for their Prom!!
-She is head choreographer of the JUBILEE which plays the summer. Over 2,000 youth (i believe maybe more) are performing in this large performance
-She has always been more athletic than me. She played softball, did gymnastics, cheerleading, drill team, played basketball in high school and now is an extremely avid runner. She runs every morning with a group of girls at 6am!
-She just participated in a 10K and won 1st place for her age group!
She is just my mom and I love her. She is very supportive and proud of me and my acomplishments. I wish I could be spending this special day with her. Good thing for Skype! Maybe next year we will be in TEXAS!!!
Happy Mother's Day MOMMA!!

So this post is about my mom but My dad also had his birthday last month. I'm so lame but I enjoy recognizing my family members on their birthday! My dad is the Stake President of the McKinney Texas Stake. He has had this calling for the past almost 4 years I believe. Before that he was Bishop for 5 and ward Mission Leader or something of the sort before that...All in our McKinney 2nd ward. My dad grew up in a family of 3 boys and 8 sisters!!! Can you believe that?! He is the 3rd son and 4th in line. I have always been told that his older sister Daphne taught him all of his properness and manners. I don't think many people know my dad very well. They just see hims sitting up on the stand with a sort of scowl. He says he is just thinking about his stake and the people he loves. I figure he could at least smile so he doesn't scare everybody off. haha. We tease him now for it. He just can't help it though. I can only imagine how burdened he may feel sometimes being the stake president running a full time orthodontic office and being a father to 6 kids the youngest being 6 and a grandpa to 1 with another on the way. He is constantly busy. BUT I love my dad. He is extremely goofy and can be quite entertaining...shhhh I don't know if he want's people to know that. hahaha. For his birthday before we skyped I sent him a text and this is what it said... "Happy Birthday Daddio....What are you like 35 now?!" Sure Love you. hahahaha When we skyped later my mom said that he read it out loud in the car and said now that's how you make brownie points! hahaha
IF you ever go to my house I will have to show you pictures of my dad but boy was he smokin!! He was the star quarterback and huge track runner! One of my favorite pictures of him is of him crossing the finish line in his short shorts and cut off shirt... WOOOWEEE you wouldn't necessarily know it now but he is still pretty awesome! I have one good looking dad...I think that's where my brother's get it from. Well my mom has a good looking side too.
I hope you had a great birthday DADDIO!!! I Love You.
He is wearing the Mickey Mouse Sweater. hahaha
First on the Left.
Here he is very top left with his brother's sisters and parents minus his sister Adrian.
