Lately I have been pondering my spiritual strength. Chris and I have no problem going to church, attending the temple, paying our tithing, watching general conference. My struggle comes with reading the scriptures I know they are important and I really want to be better at reading and studying them. I have always had a hard time when it comes to my daily reading. I have been trying to think of ways to help myself. First off putting my scriptures right by my bed. I started last night by pulling out my scriptures and my journal. Reading my scriptures and going through my journal and updating somethings. I don't keep up to date on my journal as much because I sort of use my blog as my journal. I found an app on my phone for scriptures mastery and highlighting them in my scriptures since I have a different set I had when I was in seminary. Anyway I have really been struggling with this and really looking into who I was and who I am becoming. I get so caught up with Chris being in school Grayson being a stinker and the 5 kids I watch during the week I find myself slacking in what's more important. (not that those things aren't important but you get my point)
So today I was reading my friend Lisa's blog and she had just made a post about this very same thing. It was like an answer to my prayers! She found this website readthescriptures.com! basically you sign up and set up a schedule for how you want to read the scriptures...whether it be 1 chapter a day, read the whole book in 30 60 or 90 days...whatever you want to do. You get everything set up choose which book you want to read BOM, Doctrine and Covenants, Old Testament New testament...you get the idea. Then it sends you an e-mail as a reminder everyday and once you have finished your reading for the day you click the complete button so the next day it knows to send you your reading for the next day! I'm really excited about it...the website not only has scripture reading but quotes, Magazine such as the Ensign, General Conference Talks, Gospel Doctrine books and so on. It even lets you make notes and high light. I'm so excited I've already done my reading for the day. I really want to do better and be better. I want to be better for myself, my husband, Grayson and my children to come. Thank you Lisa for answering my prayers! :> For those of you that do read my blog...maybe this can be helpful to you too!!
