The Good Life in Texas!!

Gray is now 6 months old and I just can't believe it!! He is getting so big. He's probably 20 lbs now. he drinks like 6 oz 3-4 times a day and then eats his baby food and oatmeal 2-3 times a day. He's a beast...but i'm his mom so i guess i can say that. haha He is so happy and getting better at sleeping at night every time. We got this Johnny Jumper from a family in our stake and he LOVES it...so much that he's getting blisters on his big toes because he curls them when he jumps. So we put socks on and make him jump with a huge blanket under his feet. In this one picture you can see that he bounced him self to sleep. We LOVE It! and I highly recommend it. keeps him very entertained. He rolls everywhere and i've even caught him laying on his stomach, putting his head down reaching forward and pulling himself forward a little bit when he's trying to reach something!!! so exciting for us! That's my little bit of news on the little man!

So we came down to texas planning on Chris selling Pest Control for the whole summer. We arrived here in McKinney Thursday May 13th at 6:30...pretty good time for driving a 10hr drive in 9.5 hrs with a 4 month old. Gray did awesome. We stopped 2 times to get gas I think so we took Gray out and would play with him for a few minutes then put him back into the carseat. SO helpful that he was pretty good the whole way there. Chris went to his first day of selling on friday. It poured rain the whole day so they didn't get to do much.

On to my next story. We have been trying to talk chris into going to Dental school since we started dating. Chris is extremely intelligent and good at anything you put in front of him. So my plan for the summer was to work for my dad as a receptionist at his office. Well I go in for half of the day while my mom watches Gray and then the other half I keep him. It works out really nice. So on monday I was planning to go to work in the afternoon. I woke up around 8 and Chris came upstairs really really happy. me having jsut woken up wasn't as happy. He says to me..." I've been talking to your mom and I've decided to go to Dental school!" I laughed and said back to him "don't tease me that's not funny!" But he was very serious and had a long discussion with my mom about everything. So he went in to talk to my dad about how he felt about the whole idea. Chris drove to work and told them he was done for the summer due to a career change and things went really smoothly. Now chris and I both work for my dad and chris is learning a lot of great things.

We found out that he has the same amount of time at Belmont as he would at BYU finishing up some science credits to get an undergrad to go onto Dental School. Sadly it's too late to get back into BYU for the fall so we will be staying here in McKinney until December while Chris attends Quad C and takes some online classes from BYU so he is at least doing something to continue the process and stay on track. Then we plan to get back into BYU for Winter semester. He has at least 3 semesters left so we should be able to get into Dental School the Fall of 2012!!! We are extremely excited about our decisions and our future! We had a plan before while we were in TN but it was never set. He had planned to go to Law School for Entertainment Law and then he thought about going to get his MBA and do business stuff but it was just never certain that he could get a great job right out of school. It was a little risky and we know Chris will be great in Dental School and as a Dentist. The other great thing about all of this is that my older brother Ryan has just proposed to his girlfriend Jessi Kirk and they will be getting married August 20th in the Houston Temple then going back to BYU for the fall. SO we can't wait to spend time with them up at BYU come January. Ryan also plans to attend Dental school and him and Chris are on the same track. Chris really wants to get into the Baylor Dental School so being here in McKinney until December will hopefully help us get in state tuition. We'll see. I hope this is all making sense. We are really sad to leave our friends in TN but we feel we will be better off with our new plans for our small family. We will be keeping in touch with all of you and if you ever come to TX let us know so we can get together. Thanks for being such great friends and taking us in as your friends. Good Luck. We love you. :>
